" The distant mountains [of the Brooks Range in Alaska] make one want to go on and on over the next ridge and over the one beyond. This last American wilderness must remain sacrosanct."

Here's your introduction to the splendid wilderness that is the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. There are grizzlies, wolves, thousands of caribou and millions of birds that inhabit the Refuge, which belongs to all Americans. We have a choice about its future: Develop it for oil and gas (about a 90 day's supply) or treasure it as a wilderness and wildlife refuge. What will its future be?

Before you decide, be sure to take an Arctic Journey, view our slideshow, and learn about migrating birds with Migratory Max and Backyard Birds.
