The Mississippi Flyway
This route, from the Arctic Coastal Plain and the Mackenzie River Valley in Canada over the Great Lakes and down the Mississippi River Valley to the Mississippi delta, is low elevation, devoid of mountains. The forests and rivers and lakes along this route make attractive habitat for migrating birds. Birdwatchers can spy a remarkable variety of species during migration along this route. Our Mississippi Flyway map shows the route of the White-fronted goose. Click on the map in the sidebar to see an animated version of the goose's route along the Mississippi Flyway, or choose one of the other birds to learn more about that species.
