Idaho Earthfest 2007
Smart Solutions, Smart Idaho
Since 1990, Earth Fest Idaho has evolved to provide the public with a free, family-oriented event
and is committed to teaching common sense conservation and the preservation of our resources, lands
and wildlife.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Idaho Earth Fest 2007! Over 2,000 people joined dozens of
exhibitors at Julia Davis Park on Saturday April 21, 2007 to celebrate Earth Day and get lots of great
information on Smart Solutions for home and work that reduce our environmental impact. If you don't
believe us - take a second to check out photos from the day.
Over 100 volunteers marked storm drains, cleaned parks, planted willow trees and helped out at Zoo Boise
in service projects around the community Saturday morning. It was a pleasure to work with the dedicated
professionals and volunteers with the City of Boise Park and Rec Department, Trout Unlimited Ted Trueblood
Chapter and Zoo Boise.
Our thanks to the musicians and dancers who donated their artistic talent and time to entertain the crowd:
- Nejwah's World Dance Troupe
- Decorative Poi by Rose
- Story Reading by Boise High School TREE club
- Victuals bluegrass band (sponsored by Western Watersheds Project)
- Carter Freeman
- Malakai, and...
- The Heard
8th Street Wine Company provided great food and drink, and donated a portion of the proceeds to
Idaho Earth Fest. Thank you Erik and crew!
Dozens of volunteers provided invaluable help with set up, parking control, monitoring the alcohol
area, assisting kids with art projects, staffing the Earth Fest booth and clean up. The event could
not succeed without volunteers—thank you!
