Different Routes

Max and his friends use a different route to head home. Instead of flying back over the Atlantic Ocean, as they did on their southbound journey a year and a half ago, the American golden-plovers will leave South America and head north across Central America and up over the Mississippi River Valley, across Canada to the Arctic coastal plain, a journey several thousand miles long.
